The CRC Memorial Tennis Tournament has tennis in the name, but tennis ability is not a requirement for making an impact. In fact, one of the most important messages of the final campaign is that everyone has a role.
First, volunteer. Serve It Up for Life is actively looking for individuals, school groups, community-service organizations and corporate teams. Volunteer jobs can include registration, setup, photography, video, player support, sponsor hospitality, social media, flyer distribution and general event assistance. Even a two-hour shift can relieve pressure on the core team.
Second, donate. You do not need to attend to support Breaking the Silence New Mexico. An individual gift becomes part of the larger pool of support for education, youth advocacy and community programming.
Third, sponsor. Businesses can choose packages from $250 to $10,000. Sponsorship creates a direct financial contribution and also expands the audience when companies share the event with employees and customers.
Fourth, attend. A public community event feels different when the sidelines are active. Friends, family members and supporters help create energy, visibility and connection around the players.
Fifth, share. This costs nothing and may be one of the highest-leverage actions available. Post the tournament to a neighborhood group. Send it to a tennis player. Forward it to a business owner. Put it in a company Slack or parent newsletter. One share can introduce the event to an entirely new network.
Sixth, recruit. If you know someone who plays, ask directly: “Are you registered for October 24?” Personal invitations outperform passive awareness because the person knows the recommendation came from someone they trust.
The event is designed around a simple idea: serving the community can take many forms. Some people will serve a tennis ball. Others will serve at the registration table, write a sponsorship check, make a donation, bring a friend or amplify the mission online. All of those roles matter.
