10 Reasons to Play in Albuquerque’s CRC Memorial Tennis Tournament on October 24

If you have been waiting for a reason to enter the CRC Memorial Tennis Tournament, here are ten of them—and only ten days remain in the campaign countdown.

  1. Play competitive tennis in a community setting. The October 24 tournament gives Albuquerque-area players a full day centered on the sport they already love.

  2. Meet more players. Local tournaments create connections that can outlast a single match. You may leave with a new hitting partner, doubles connection or club contact.

  3. Play at Jerry Cline Tennis Center, one of Albuquerque’s major public tennis facilities and a familiar hub for local players.

  4. Support youth mental-health education. Tournament proceeds benefit Breaking the Silence New Mexico, whose programs are designed to improve mental-health literacy and reduce stigma.

  5. Help make mental health discussable. Every visible supporter helps normalize the idea that mental health belongs in ordinary community conversation—not only behind closed doors.

  6. Honor Ryan’s memory. The tournament is rooted in remembrance and in the decision to transform grief into service.

  7. Support a New Mexico nonprofit. BTSNM is headquartered in Albuquerque and operates programs across the state.

  8. Bring someone with you. Events grow when one participant becomes two. Invite a doubles partner, teammate, family member or friend.

  9. Be part of a broader community day. Players are only one part of the event. Sponsors, volunteers, families and supporters create the atmosphere together.

  10. Play for something bigger. Competition can be fun and meaningful at the same time. A match can help generate funds, awareness and conversations that continue after the scoreboard is cleared.

The final ten days are the moment to act. Register now, then share the tournament with one other player. If you cannot compete, choose another lane: sponsor, donate, volunteer or attend. The goal is not to make everyone do the same thing. It is to make it easy for everyone to do something.
